Points come off future orders. At enough of them, an order costs nothing.

The small print
Before you ask
Do my points expire?
If you go twelve months in a row without placing an order, your approved points expire. Anything you earned in that time from non-purchase activity expires on the same date.
Does a free order still count?
Yes. Even if an order comes to nothing because points covered all of it, it still counts as an order, so your points stay active for another twelve months.

On your account page, under Happy points.
